Want to improve your data-analysis skills? Bamboo Weekly is all about learning through practice — and not the boring sorts of practice you see in so many blog posts and videos, with clean data and obvious answers. BW is about dealing with real-world, dirty data sets that make you think and scratch your head before you dive into the analysis itself.
Each week, BW takes a topic from current events — from inflation to military drones, from wine cellars to oil exports — and asks you to answer between 4-8 questions based on a real-world data set on that topic. The questions come on Wednesdays, and the solutions — including downloadable Jupyter and Marimo notebooks — come on Thursdays.
As you solve problems, you'll get familiar with more and more Panda techniques, including method chaining, pivot tables, window functions, and PyArrow. We even look at such systems as Polars and DuckDB, comparing their APIs and performance with Pandas.
The first two questions and answers are open to everyone, as are the archives from 2+ years ago. Paid subscribers (including subscribers to LernerPython+data) get full access to these archives, as well as an invitation to monthly office hours, where you can ask any questions you have about Pandas and data analysis.
Subscribe to Bamboo Weekly, and get more fluent solving data problems with Pandas.
