Pandas Workout is out!

My new book, with more than 200 exercises to improve your Pandas skills, has been published by Manning.

Pandas Workout is out!

Pandas Workout is now in print!

This book, which I've been writing and editing for more than three years, is similar to my previous book, Python Workout: It's not meant to teach you Pandas and data analysis, but rather to help you sharpen your skills through lots of exercises using real-world data sets.

In addition to the main exercises and the additional "beyond the exercise" challenges, Pandas Workout also has two larger projects that pull together many of the themes and techniques in the book.

Also: There are lots of diagrams throughout the book that will help you understand what's going on behind the scenes. Every exercise has a link to the Pandas Tutor site. You can also download the Jupyter notebooks I used to solve each of the problems.

Not surprisingly, it's similar in style to Bamboo Weekly — but with more questions, longer explanations, and a very wide variety of techniques.

To celebrate the book's launch, Manning is offering a 45% discount to anyone who applies the "pblerner2" coupon code at checkout through the first week in May.

And if you'll be attending PyCon US in Pittsburgh? I'll be giving away signed, printed copies at my booth, as a conference sponsor. (And yes, I'm also planning to have lots of other swag. Plus, I'm giving a tutorial on decorators and a talk about dates + times in Pandas, so I'll be busy!)

Thanks to the many people at Manning and elsewhere who helped to make this book far better than I could have done myself, including a number of reviewers from both Better Developers and Bamboo Weekly.
